Has any one tried the Hooker 5204 1 3/4" headers for an A-body? In all the stuff I read about them says they only fit 70-72 A-body. I would really like to put a set on my 73 Dart Sport 340 with the spool type motor mounts, but I don't want to pay the $400+ for a set and then not be able to use them. Any help would be great. Thanks, Kevin.

Remember that all of the A-body headers except TTI go under the centerlink (Unless they are fenderwell - which are worse). I think the extra money is worth spending on the better headers. The ones I have on my car are horrible and I have twanged them many time on bumps etc.

Excellent set of headers!! I have had 2 sets of these on a 69 and a 73 a-body and they fit very well.Do yourself a big favor and coat the slip tubes with anti seize, makes it a bunch easier when you need to remove them.

Hi,
Well my 2 cents, I have a 73 340 Dart Sport 340 and I use Thorley #351 ( nickle plated ) driver side has #7 tube that is detachable ( slip fit ) But other than that heavy tube and thick flanges don't hang down below K member only need to remove starter and jack driverside (of engine) up about 2-3" to get in. Passenger side just have car about 8-10 off the ground and the header almost goes in by itself had to pinch myself thought I did something wrong.
