Recently rebuilt 318 now getting no oil pressure. Starts out good, but as motor gets hot pressure drops almost to 0. Drained oil and it has the consistency of water, without separation or the smell of gas. Lifters are going nuts and these are the second set. I am just curious as too why the oil is thin (I know that thin oil will cause low oil pressure, but why is it thin?).
Thanks for any help, Rednecker88 |

I dont know why it would be thin. But i did a 318 way back when. Theres a plug that seperates the oil passages in the rear of the block for the oil filter that MUST be in there. Failure to make sure its there will result in low oil pressure.
Also, if theres to much clearance in the eng. the same thing will happen. |
