The rain cost me another 400 mile round trip! In the last three trips, I have had only one round of competition, but spent over $700 on gas, food, entry fee, etc. (no race car expenses). So, If I do the math and figure $700 per 12.44 seconds of racing, it comes out to $56.27 per second. ($202,572.35 per hour)

Yeah, know how you feel, thats kinda like figuring out that you've worked a 100 hrs on a car over wnter, but will only really race for 15 minutes all summer.

Wink Don't Think About It!

I'm warning you guys...............the best way to spoil it for yourself is to start thinking that way. Worse yet, don't ever let your wife hear you talking like that! I think of all the hours I spend on cars as good "therapy". Really good "therapy" is expensive. The better way to think of it would be how many hours you got to enjoy working on it, to spend that much money. For me, the driving part of it has always been the short-term thrill. Of course, the long tows, gas, entry fees and hotels are the worst part of the deal. I never figure food into the mix..........I figure I'm gonna have to eat wherever I am. At least you haven't broken anything lately. There's nothing like a 1000 mile tow and break the thing on the first pass off the trailer. Now that makes for a very long drive home!

Remember.............don't EVEN think about it!

Yeah Billy, I know what you're saying. I am planning on running a bunch of races out of state this summer, so I know I'll be taking the 'rain hit' somewhere along the line.

Biggrin

I know how you feel.....

Last year they tried three time to have the Mopar drag Race race shootout here and three time I loaded the car and drove over 2 hours to compete. What pissed me off was that the track said the weather was fine when I called and when I got there it was raining. Three times.......my wife was pissed because we loaded out our three month old (at the time) at 6 in the morning to go each time..........

The track has to stop lying about the weather just to get my money????

I'm driving 6 hours to the Mopar Nationals this year and I don't care if it rains or snows or hurricanes....I'm going to stay and look at mopars. If I have to stand beside Brice Road in hip waders and watch the mopars float by!!!! LOL
