Trying to set up my (new) MP distributor (P3690430) for my street car. Took off top, curve looks very long: measured the travel of tabs in slots, looks like right over .300" (advanced to retarded). Diameter of plate at this point is about 2.32", which means the circumference is about 7.29" around: if this is 720° (distributor turns ½ speed), this means that .010" of stop travel = 1°.
The curve is 30°?? Must run no more initial lead than 7°???
Am I missing something? If the total rotation is only 360° then the curve is 60° (worse). Has anyone taken one of these apart?
