I have a 67 barracuda with a big block engine harness I'm thinking about trying one of those constant
output voltage regulators,I already bought it .Does it mount right in place of the original unit and is just connect the wires and go.
The problem I'm trying to solve is this last season the car ,steertable but race only, would not start from time to time the car would crank fine but no spark a simple jump and it would start.I've been told
that MP electronic ignitions need that 12 volts to light the plugs.
I'm thinking that i was running the battery down starting and stopping the motor ,not giving it a chanc e to build the charge up.
Do you think I'm on the right track with this constant output regulator,Does anybody use one can anyone shed some light on this.

The constant voltage regulator will definately help, but make sure your battery is in top condition as well. The rigours of constant starting with short run time is very hard on batteries. Make sure when you get home to put your battery on a slow charge until its completely charged so it's ready to go next race.

Default voltage regulator

The mopar performance catalog lists P3690732 for vehicles 1969 and older, and yes, it's a bolt in and go unit.
