I am planning on doing a rebuild for my 383, I want a mild motor w/ about 425 HP, I think this will do it.
383 w/ steel crank and '71 oem rods Rebuild kit from summit, flat top pistons .030 over bore gives me 389 cubes Hard bloc in the water jackets, Hi Po Mopar mag says that is worth 20 HP about 9.4-9.7 CR '516s w/ 2.08/1.74 valves, bowl porting Port matched Performer or Weiand Action + intake 3310 Holley 750 cfm Vacuum secondaries Comp 270H "K" cam kit advanced 2 degrees 1.5 roller tip rockers Align honed cam bearings and bores, Maurice Petty says it is worth 15 HP 1 3/4 Hedman hedders w/ Jet Hot inside and out 2 1/2 in exhuast w/ balance tube Rebuilt Electronic distributor and chrome ECU 727 TorqueFlite w/ 2500 stall B&M Shift Kit, low 2.74 first gear 3.73s and Detroit locker in an 8 3/4 case 3800 lb car race weight What do you guys think a car like this would run? Comp 270H hasduration of 270, dur @ 50 is .224, lift is .470, 110 centerline |
