Question

I am putting in solid front mounts on my 440 Duster, a guy at work said I might need a midplate on my motor. My gueston is do I need a midplate or will the solid front mounts and trans mount be enough? This is in a 440 Duster that should run 7,0s in the 1/8th. I need to know because I want to install the motor this weekend if possible.

Use the solid mounts with a reg rubber trans mount. One of the mounts has to be rubber, or you will break the tailshaft on the trans after some time.

Don Like Jeri says ,no mid plate is needed or wanted. You need a pivot point to make up for the power your new motor is going to make. I received the picture of your duster on Email looks great. My car looks just like it but it is all black, same rims . I look forward to trading info on racing or getting the best et out of the A body combos. THat 590 cam 440 should get you to the 7.0s for sure from what I hear .My biggest cam that I have used is the 509,So your car will be a learning experience for me.Sport
