Does anyone know the intake opening specs for a 590 312 purple shaft cam? RE: intake opens .050@ xx degrees before top dead center.

Thanks

MAYBE I MISUNDERSTOOD YOUR QUESTION BUT IF YOUR ASKING WHAT THE DURATION AT .050 IS ON THE 312/590 MOPAR CAM, IT WOULD BE 85% OF THE ADVERTISED DURATION OR 265.2 DEGREES

Hes looking for the events of the valve timing @ .050
Not what it would be spec wise compared to the advertsied duration.
In otherwords, the intake valve @ opens how many degrees before TDC and closes how many degrees after BDC.
You will need the actual cam installed to know this. Unless there is another siurse of info for this.

Question

I couldn't find the specs for the cam your'e referring to but basically you can figure it out close if you have the intake centerline degrees, 312 Adv. dur. on Mopar Perf cam is 85% at .050 , that's 265 degrees at .050 if intake centerline is 108 degrees then the intake valve starts opening at approx. 48 deg btdc .050 open would be approx. 24.5 degrees btdc in other words 265 deg div by 2 equals 132.5 , 108 centerline so 24.5 degrees before that or 24.5 btdc . on the closing side the valve should be closed by 84deg Abdc it will be .050 closed at 60.5 degrees Abdc, if you use a 2degree advance mark or key then the opening and closing will be 2 degrees before ie. opening will be at .050 at 26.5 deg Btdc and closing to .050 will be 58.5 deg Abdc. I hope this amkes sense and I hope it's right it's the way I understand it. This is based on symmetrical cam lobe lobe ramps,... the best way is to degree the cam in and see what it says on the wheel!
