mopar leaving nascar???

Heard that since Dailmer Chrysler was having "money problems" that they only had enough resources to support the dodges in nascar for only 2 seasons. Anybody know if this is ture????? I HOPE NOT!!!

I seem to remember reading that they signed 5 year contracts with Evernham and Petty. It would probably cost them more to break those contracts than to continue racing. They might not sponsor any cars, but the R&D support and parts supply should continue.

The major part of the money comes from th Dodge Dealer's Association. I guess if they decide to pull the plug, it's over. I don't believe they will though, because this is the most exciting thing to happen in NASCAR for a long time, and it's gotta be good for the dealer's!

I think it's all just another rumor floating around. Chrysler made a big deal out of getting back into NASCAR and they spent millions in just advertising their return to NASCAR. They just wouldn't drop out of it like that after spending the money they did and all the hype that was built up around their return to NASCAR.

As I recall, it took Stanton 2 or 3 years to get the first World of Outlaws win and it took Mopar "buying" Kinser to do it. And it took Arrington 3 years to get the first Dodge engine in victory lane in the Nascar Supertrucks. And both of those efforts had serious factory backing. Mopar has been in this since 94 and they are just getting toward the top where they want to be. Let's show some patience, discount the rumors because it may take some time before the wins begin to come.

Mopar will rule Nascar once again. Like everyone is saying, give them time..this is only the first season, we can't expect much, although some of the Dodges are doing well..(go sterling!!!)

I have heard this rumer since before the racing season even started.It is just a rumer thats all.Probably started by shivie & phord fans.They just cant stand that DODGE can come in and run with them right out of the shoot.

They had better not be leaving, Marlin is doing great, he just needs to keep it up, and not back off at the end when someone passes him.
