Anyone have any experience with the Mopar performance Single plane Intake part #P4529463? How did you like the performanc it gave? Is it also called a M1 intake? Thanks to all.

Sorry, forgot this...

I did a search of this intake and found some good discussion on it. The power seems to be found in the upper rpm's with the M1 single. With the set up on my 77Doba (listed below), I have lots of low end, but mid-range hurts. I need more mid-range power, say 3000-5500. I have a performer 440 intake and I'm not impressed with it at all. I am changing the cam to a 509 (hughes too much$)and the carb to a 850 Dbl Pump Holley. Will this intake give me the mid-range I need?

I believe High Performance Mopar? did a comparison between the M1 single plane and the Performer RPM on a street/strip Coronet with a mildly built 440.
The results in the 1/4 mile were fairly close with the Performer RPM with a slight edge on the mild 440.
I think the Coronets setup was simular to your current setup.

I know the M1 single plane works with the 292 duration 0.509" cam!
My friend has ran this combination in his 440 with 10" converter, Holley 750 and 3.55:1 gears in a '69 Charger street car and the car has ran 12.16 1/4 mile ET and that was with out fine tuning the carb to the track at Hartland Park in Topeka, KS. Normally the car runs 12.9's here at Bandimere (near Denver, CO.)

I run a M1 single plane on the 451 stroker, the intake has a 1" spacer and a 1,000 cfm Pro-Series Holley carb.
The engine has a good sized street roller cam (251 duration @ 0.050", 0.620" lift) and the engine has loads of torque across the power band to about 6,300 RPM. I think the M1 may be a bit small if your going to built an engine with shift points over 6,500 RPM.
