Another question. My charger (68) is coming together good. I will not work on it for about 2 weeks, due to the nats coming up. I have the motor (440) apart to change cams and I want to fix this problem. I have tried heat sheilds before without much luck. I dont want to change starters every 3 months eather. Right now my starter is fine, but if I keep running the car I will cook it soon. My question is. If I wrap the headers (Hooker supercomp) will this make a very big differance. and if so what and where can I find the best wrap. As all of you know removing and repaceing headers and starters with headers is the worst job on the planet. I have thought about coatings, but way to much money, and I havent seen many last that long. any thoughts on this matter would be great.

Im no pro on this matter but as far as the various theads i've seen on this issue, most everyone seems to agree that header wraps will greatly reduce the life of your headers. Seems the wrap traps moisture in, and thats not good!
I got a set of Dynomax (coated inside and outside) headers for my 66' Coronet for around 250.00. whih I thought was a great price for coated headers. Hopefully someone else here can help you out. Good luck! ------------------ |
