I installed super stock springs on a 70 superbee drag car and now the pinion angle is at 5 degrees nose up. according to the mopar performance chassis manual I need 5 to 7 degrees nose down. I would need too many shims between the spring and rear end to correct the problem, is there any other fix
to this problem without having to pull the whole thing apart and cutting off and remounting the spring mounting seats. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS!!! |

I had a pinion problem also when I changed rear ends. I tried putting a huge chunk of metal instead of shims to correct the pinion angle but was uncomfortable with the band-aid solution. I ended up cutting off the seats and remounting new ones. Peace of mind.

you have to much incorrect angle to correct with shims. your going to have to do it right by cutting them off and rewelding. don't take a chance. i had a 70 440 6 pk 4 spd with a bad u-joint i didn't know about. after i bounced the d-shaft out the back and had to buy a new one i learned on drivetrain ethics.
