My duster is a 74, slant six, and as we all know emissions from 72 really hurt these engines power. Well i blocked off the EGR valve and i oversized by .06 and i had everything re dun on the engine, like the heads were cleaned and the valves were replaced with new stock ones. But anyways it started with a stock 105 hp, what would the estimate of hp be now? I was alos thinking about headers and a holley 390 cfm 4 bbl with an offenhauser intake, but people said the passage of the offy is too small, what should i go with for intake, and what brand headers? To top it off i heard purple cams made a nice cam for the slan, should i go with that? If not what cam what statistics?

Thanks all

Do a bit of headwork, clean up the ports, maybe open up the bowls. Then get a decent midrange cam, remember that the /6 will not rev a lot, but you can make a real midrange monster out of it. Get a decent set of headers, Cliffords are good but expensive, I am not sure who else makes them. Get a super six intake and use that. Another idea would be to check out the posts on Tim and Speedy's slant six page on this forum. I think they have covered just about everything. If you really want to go with a 4 barrel, the Clifford manifold is the best in my opinion, go with a 450-500 cfm Holley or Carter and upgrade the cam a bit more. run 2 1/2" duals off the split headers. I just got done working on a friends Super 6 powered Aspen and that setup is the stuff dude, I swear it is as fast as my V8 LeBaron. Probably do to gearing but it still rocks for a 6. Good luck, cruzerjd
