In the Ram truck chat forum we were discussing windage trays for the 318/360 and wondered if anyone could provide any dyno results on what a windage tray can do on a smallblock V8 ?
Will Mopar Performance part number P4529790 on page 108 of the year 2000 catalog fit on Magnum series V8's without conflict? Is there some problem if ARP studs are used ? Does someone else make a superior windage tray for the LA smallblocks? Perhaps one with a crank scraper built in? |

No dyno charts that I am aware of BUT the MP books claim the stock windage tray was good for like 20 hp at the upper rpm range on a 440.
The stock windage tray uses special main cap bolts on two of the main caps with an extra tall head that is rifle drilled and tapped for the windage tray attaching hardware, so unless you got ARP studs set up for the stock tray I doubt they will work. The only other tray available, that I am aware of, is a Milodon setup that requires the use of special Milodon bolts/studs. Is it better? I don't know. Not aware of anyone making a crank scraper, but they are usually trim to fit anyway so make one yourself. Steve |
