Question

I was reading a post at the Dakota site to disable the automatic locks once you reach 15mph. It didn't work for my Durango though. Does anyone know how to change this option.

Look in the owners manual, there is a procedure outlined there involving locking and un-locking the doors to turn off the autolock. If I had mine handy, I'd give you the page number.

Default Door locks

Mine is a '98 and had to be done at the dealer. I think they used the DRB. (I know it was a hand held computer I watched them do it.) With your's being a 99 I think it is the same way. Either way the Owners manual should tell you.

Cool Automatic Door Loack @ 15 mph

Jaw,
I have a 2001 Ram 1500 and I had mine turned off by the dealer with the hand held.
Good luck,
Jim

Does anyone have the instuctions how to disable this on the newer Durango's. I'll give it a try on my 99'. If I don't have any luck, I guess I will have to go to the dealer.

Biggrin

All you need to do is cycle the ignition from the off to on position 4 times. Then put the automatic door lock into the lock position. It should beep and it is disabled. Now everyone can figure out how to get out of the back of my car.
