Question

Can any one back up the claim by Hughes Engines about the small block Edelbrock heads having out of round seats??? If this is true why doesnt Edelbrock fix this...could it be a manufacturing defect that is warrantee-able? What would happen if I installed them right out of the box? Anyone have experience with this?

I have heard of a few people testing the heads and finding this problem. BUT only a few. The problem is not an Edelbrock thing only and is a problem faced by small manufatures of product of this type and nature.
Granted...it should be perfect and a bolt on! And I would think its a warrente-able thing. Check them prior to installation.
A Huges stage 1 porting job would be a real bennifit to the heads for power output.

Hensley racing also says they won't sell them without checking and machining everything. They sell them with 258 cfm for 1600$ and 279 cfm for 1900$ complete.

Cool alum heads

guy this is the case on any alum head.... after running them for a few miles the center valve seats will move.. this happins to the two inside clys because of heat.. you should always remove the head after it's been run a few times and do a valve job. the problem goes away after that........
