aight, yall. ive been kicking around a neat idea lately, and im wondering if itll work. People have been using the spindles from disc brake equipped 73 and up A-bodys for years to upgrade their road runners, cudas, etc. these cars came with big bolt pattern drums origonally. people have also been using the 73 up a bodys to upgrade to big bolt on earlier a-bodys. doesnt it make sense that the drums off teh big cars (along with spindles) would swap into the early a-bodys, thereby giving the desired big bolt pattern and doing it for a fraction of the cost. just an idea, but will it work?

I'm not sure about this but, didn't the spindles change in the way they mount?

Yes, in fact I recall that the 10" spindle is the same, just the hub, drum, backing plate and innards are different. But, when it's all said and done, you still only have drums in the front. Most people swap to the 4.5" bolt pattern to get disc brakes, not to get the bolt pattern.
