Im building a 340 with KB pistons. I was wondering if it would be worth an extra 60 dollars to buy a set of plasma moly file to fit rings (.035) or a set of regular moly rings (.030). From what I've read you have to file the regular rings down to work with the KB pistons anyway. What do yall think?

"It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar"
In your case, it wouldn't make sense to buy file-fit rings. You would just be filing more material away, on the top ring at least.

if your building do it right ,go for zero gap or total seal rings the extra power will be well worth it.

I just looked in a Summit catalog and you can buy gapless rings for a sbc from Childs/Alberts for $169 and Total Seal for $128. I don't know why the cost would be any higher for a 340.

File to fit, or you live with what you get, Gapless need to be fit and the reason for the increased cost for the 340 in there isnt 200M out there like the C word. I have a set of Total Seals that were to big for my 340 Ill part with, Cheap. Email me
