Hey 440 r/t, I just finished getting my kick-down connected and working right. Its been disconnected for about 6 mo's or 500 miles. My car would shift through the gears very quick, 3rd by 25 or 30 mph. I have read and been told that you will burn up your trans if it is not connected. Mine seems to be ok. 67 Belvedere II with a mostly stock 273/auto 65,000 orginal miles. I disconnected mine when I added a 4 BBL. Had to do some rigging, but its working fine now. Good luck...
As I've always said: I'd rather screw it up on my own, then pay someone to screw it up for me... |

The lokar setup works great but if you have to drive it around until it comes in the mail from summit or jegs shift it manually or the line pressure in the tranny will not rise enough and will shorten the life about half.

440 does your street fighter trans have a manual valve body(i.e. you have to shift it your self all the time)? If so you do not run a kick down of any kind. If it is a standard valve body you have to run a kick down or you WILL burn your trans. If you absolutely have to drive it around, tie the kick down lever back 3/4 or all the way back and manually shift it, I wouldn't suggest any full throttle blasts until u get you kick down though. The kickdown on a Chrysler is called a Throttle valve (TV) and it dictates how much pressure the trans sees by monitoring how much throttle is being applied.
