Question

Charger is painted. I am putting it together now. Weather was so good, we decided to take small drive.(no carpet or headliner and only front seats) Boy! was that fun. I have a small stumble in it. Car runs great, but at a steady speed, it has a small stumble now and then. To give background, (440 re ringed and bearings 71 steal crank. Heads have new guides and have some port work done. Comp cams 292H 501 lift. carter AFB NEW, MP electronic ignition). Dose this sound like a timing problem. I thank you for your help.

Check out for a possible vacuum leak (carb gasket, intake gaskets, hoses...) , that fixed mine.

Cool

I´ve experienced this phenomenon with many new Carter AFBs. Engine hesitates and misses because mixture goes to too lean. Remedy is to enlarge the brass pick up tubes inside carb. Richening idle or main circuit has no effect because this happens when intermediate circuit is in use. Be careful not to enlarge them too much
