Thanks for all the great replies in reference to my cooling problem. For new viewers, I had a 69 Coronet 383 with a 3 Core radiator that would not stay cool. What solved it? 1. MP Viscus fan package from summit 2.shroud from Year One
3. New 3 core Radiator
4.Rid the electric and flex fan!

What a difference! she stays at 180, climbs slowly a notch or two in standing traffic, but drops @10 deg. as soon as you start moving!!!! The suction is amazing on the front of the rad.! Also, clearance between the clutch and rad. was not a factor as once thought before. I can't believe it!
Next, I'm gonna put some "water wetter" in just in case. I have had some say temp dropped 15 degrees off the top. Any positive feedback on this product??
Phew !!! Didn't have to buy that 500 dollar radiator after all!!!!!

Shark, I have an '84 Trans Am that always ran between 200/220 with the stock 195 stat. I put in a 160, straight water and 1 bottle of water wetter and it's never gotten above 180, even in traffic on a day that was in the 90's. Just don't forget the anti-freeze before winter.

I used the water wetter in the GTX last summer. First time I added a bottle into the mix and didn't see any drop in temp. I flushed the system, ran straight water and 1 1/2 bottles of the stuff and could not believe it actually did work. Factory gauge showed a drop in temp! I never had a problem with overheating or anything, but since I was driving from NY to the Nats, thought it would be good insurance. I felt very confident sitting in dead stop trafic on the interstate in 95deg. heat.
