I am looking for a way to rebuild to turbo from a '86 Labaron. Or a shop that rebuilds them. The dealer wants $700 for a new part, way to much for me. I also have talk to people that have bypassed them, is this a good idea.

You should be able to get a rebuit one for around 350 or so you could bypass it but the car would be a dog if that's ok with you go for it

I recently rebuilt my turbo on my 86 turboz with a turbo rebuild from jc whitney. The kit only cost $99 and it works great. I didn't have the $$$ for a new turbo, and i am very leary about jc witney parts, but was completely satisfied!! turboz22l@aol.com
