Yep, Car-truck.com just "broke the news" (if that's what you call posting a rumor) that Dodge has given the Charger platform a green light for production.

Here's the bulk of the page:

"While the body is a mystery, the power train is not. The Charger will have a 5.4 liter HEMI under its hood powering the rear wheels. The HO 4.7 and the 3.5 liter V6 will also be part of the mix. An interesting feature that's still under discussion is a 24 volt electrical system.

"Charger fans who hated the four-door setup on the concept, will be happy to hear that the Mark II will be a two-door coupe. Unfortunately, they will not be building a convertible.

"My source reports that price will be higher then initially projected. Pricing is expected to begin in the high 20's and top out in the mid to high 30's for a decked out R/T with the 5.4 HEMI..."

5.4L Hemi? What happened to the other 0.3 liters of displacement? Destroked 5.7L? Maybe they're not going to stick with their lil' scheme of 4.7L/5.7L/6.7L? Either way, a RWD two-door coupe (even a full-bodied one like the Charger) just fills me with a warm glow... *sigh*

Oh, wait -- by that time, I'm going to need a four-door! Ah, well, looks like I'll have to get a fully-loaded 300N with a 5.7L Hemi instead...

If you look at the arcticle again, you'll see that they ARE planning on the 5.7L and not a 5.4L HEMI!!
GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS!!!!!

OK, novicius, you win. But I think they should have a sexy gal in the advertisements asking: "Have you got a HEMI'Eon, baby?"
