Exclamation

Ok Now I have heard them all.
I can buy some 15x7 cop wheels. The guy says
"His Uncle can stretch them to 15x8.5. Has anyone heard of this before?
I do know (not by personal experiences) that there are products to add 1.5" to certain things but steel rims????

Default Stretch Marks

I think what he may have meant is that he could have the center cut out of the rim and a 8.5 inch rim outer welded on. It is an easy way to get a wider rim with a factory look. There are many companies that will do this for you. Stockton Wheel and Wheel Vintiques are a few popular ones. Vintiques sells thru Summit.

Wink Wheel sizes

Unless a person is adding some to the band ( cutting it in half and adding some material ) there is no way to make an 8.5" wide wheel. There are only so many companies in the U.S. that make wheel bands ( brand new ). That I know of , no one is making that size of band and in the past , no factory wheel was made that size.
I sell some custom made stuff , from 2 different suppliers and know what can be had and what can't.......
15 x 7 and 15 x 8....some 16 x 8 and 17 x 8......

Some aftermarket wheels are 8 1/2" wide. Sort of an odd size but someone buys them.
