i need new mufflers for my car. i have a 72 dart with a 440 in it. i want the car to be as quiet as possible. right now i have a 3' exhauat on it. i think i want to go to a 2.5" exhaust on it for the street. i plan on having cut out on the headers for the strip. thanks in advance for the help

2.5's should work well on the street. Make sure you use a crossover somewhere, it really mellows out the pulses.

What mufflers are on there now?
I would stay with the 3inch and use Hooker max flow or Dyno max's Ultra flo with a "X" or "H" pipe all the way to the bumper for the street or just the rear for the track.
