I know it is not a big accomplishment to beat a mid 90's rustang 5.0 HO. I have an old 1968 Monacco with a low compression 2 barrell 383. It is worn out. I bought the car at a farm auction for $200. Absolutely no rust, but has a homemade paint job (brush strokes and hairs in the paint) OK back to my story, i pulled out the old monacco and fired her up. My friend always brags about his rustang to i asked him to race. I didn't really expect to beat him, but i thought what the hell, let's go for a rip. We lined up on this empty highway in northern Alberta and said go till we maxed out. Well i light up the one tire (ha ha ha) and we start, he got a little ahead of me on the line, but i pulled ahead of him at about 45 mph. That old worn out 383 was just screaming, i just kept pulling ahead of him until we hit 120mph and he stopped. The old C-body beat him. Now when i bring up that i beat him, he just denies it. Sucks to own a ford.

Way to go man!
Is there anything more fun than busting some 5.0 guy's ego? I had a Mustang owner do the same thing, except he said he was just playing with me, sure.... Then he changed his story to he was only running on 7 cylinders (after I brought up my cap and rotor was toast of course LOLOL!) 5.slow, the most absolutely overrated car in the world, mainly by their owners LOL.
