Howdy folks.
Boy, I sure hope someone out there cn help me with this one. I have a mid-70s 360 that I am having internally balanced. I have the "spec balanced" crank with the hollow 1st and last journal. Despite this I might still have to add mallory metal. So my question is first wether or not I will even need to add metal, and if so, where approx. I realize that this will all be done while spinning but I wondered if anyone had an approx. so I can keep the crank from jumping out of the machine. P.S. My bobweight is 2059g. |

In answer to your question I had my 360 cast crank internaly ballanced, used fluid dampener on nose, and flywheel was neutral balanced alumium 3 disc. stock steel rods with KB pistons .030" over 2eyebrows /piston it took five pieces of mallory to ballance crank also had to have some of counterweights cut. hope this will be of some help.....

There is no real way of determining where to put the stuff unless you spin it. There are variations in the balance of the crank, balancer and flexplate/flywheel that all have a seperate place to add or subtract weight to and from that make for no pre-guess guesstamites.
