I'm trying to find out what year my 318 block is and if someone can look up my compression rating, what the deck height should be for the block etc.

Anything else ya need, I would be glad to get it.

An easier way to find the year is to look at the casting numbers. The should be on the drivers side below the deck. They are large so you can't miss em. Should be something like 2536030-318-4 and to the right of that will be the actual date in mm-dd-yy format (smaller tag). That will get you the year of the engine right off. From that I'm sure a lot of the other guys here will be able to help out. This wont tell you what kind of car its out of, but for deck height only the year of the engine should matter, if my memory serves me right....

Cool,

Anybody know the compression rating of them in '68? Seems like they were something like 9:1, not sure though and don't have a book.

P.S. Where was the Mound Road Plant?

compression was from "Chrysler Muscle Car Parts Interchange Manual 1968-74" and the Mound info was from a search on the net at www.google.com.
Glad to help.
