Has anybody ever had this problem......
The dipstick is very loose and can be heard hitting the crankshaft (I think that's what it's hitting) forgive me if I'm wrong in assuming that! What can be done? Should I just replace the whole dipstick? Thanks, |

is it the right dipstick? You could get another dipstick and measure them to see if the length is different .

Bend the dip stick slightly in small increments (sp) i know) as to steer it away from the crank or whatever its hitting. The dipstick should only go in one way now. Thats my quick fix thought, hope it helps until a better one comes up.

Thanks Guys!
We have tried to shorten it, it still hits.
We have bent it...it still hits BUT ONLY when after I check the oil, and put it back in. You can wiggle it and it lifts out with NO effort at all. I will get a new one and compare I think. Thanks for your help guys! I appreciate it. DC |
