First off Why did you replace the reverse band?
The front band is the kickdown band and controls the kickdown. Was the reverse band worn? Did you check the kickdown band? is the adjustment right on the kickdown band? you might try adjusting your linkage also so it puts more pressure on the lever. Just a few of the things that ran through my head when i read your post. The reverse band desentigrated on me the material. I put a new one in and reverse works great now. I have not tried to adjust the kickdown with more pressure. Before I took it apart this last time it would work right when you punched but not when you slowed down unless it was below 10 miles an hour. it wanted to stay in 3rd other wise once it had shifted up from start up I had to manually shift it down. I have not checked to see how loose the band is yet since I put it togethter.
