Default P/S Neons

When Darrell and Mark were on ESPN2 a few weeks ago they said the the Stratus's were supposed to be out in 2003. I do believe they could have possiblely canned the neons due to length of time they have been working on them. I did see a pic of one and they were UGLY. It was the pic they showed on TV last fall. Whatever body they run I hope the have good luck with it. Just my opinon.

This is a possibility as the Stratus is supposed to replace the Avenger. There is no 2dr Neon, maybe GM and Ford complained about that. It also would be easier to re-body the current chassis and release the car next spring as a 2003 model.

Thumbs up Pro Stock Neons

Did anyone watch NHRA Heat on ESPN 2. In a short interview David Nickens indicated that the Neons have tested extremely well in the wind tunnel. He also said that he expected the Neons to be dominant because he believes that they are more aerodynamic than the new Grand Ams and Cavaliers. However,David did not indicate when the Neons would debut.

There was no word about cancelation.

I did find out a bit about this Friday. It has been determined that Daimler Chrysler wants all the factory Neons to debut at roughly the same time frame.Koretsky and Smith's Neons were not on the chassis jig until after the Winternationals. This also gave Mopar time to tweak the Neon in the wind tunnel,so that is the big reason for the delay. They will go to the Stratus in 2003,but it may not look like the current car. There is talk of it being more "streamlined".
