I had my tranny rebuilt for street/strip use. When I got it back it was slipping in high. Shifting from 1st to 2nd was fine. Nice and crisp but going to high gear I couldn't feel it shift but it would and it would slip. I took the car back to the shop and they put a ball back in the valve body that per the instructions of the shift kit was suppose to be left out. Now it seems to be doing fine but I haven't tried it running it yet and it isn't shifting as hard as before. Could there still be a problem? It's bolted to a 400 with a 10" Turbo Action stall.

Need some more info on this. What is the rated stall of your convertor, how much does your vehicle weigh (ballpark/best guess), what is your rear gear ratio? Its possible that you have too much stall for a heavy or low geared ( low numericly) vehicle and the engine is not turning enough rpm's to keep out of slippage.

It weighs about 3800 lbs with either 3.23 or 3.55 gears. The rear is Suregrip with 489 casting number so I'm not real sure about the gear. I think the suregrip only goes down to a 3.55 but not sure. I plan to put 4.10's in it later on. The stall is between 3000 and 3500. Righ now, It runs 55 or 60 about 2700 or 2800 rpm. Will changing the gear to 4.10's help?
