Got a buddy that is building a '69 318.
What is the main bearing cleareance and the plus and minus tolerance? What is the correct rod bearing clearance? And a bonus question.......... What should the top ring gap be when SpeedPro moly rings are used with KB silv-o-lites with a .030" overbore in that same 318? |

The MoPar engines s/b book states;
rod side clearance___.009-.017 c-rod ____.0025-.0030 main_____..002-.003 Piston gap should be in the instrucktions, but I guess there not handy, so, the engines book states; .014-,016 is good for the top ring and .004 less for the 2nd ring. Then it says, do not exceed a gap of .018 as this will allow to much blow by. (there rings made by who? They have KB pistons in stock, call MoPar tech @ 1.248.853.7290) Hope I helped. Good luck! |
