I am trying to find long wheel studs for my front disc brakes on my 72 Cuda. The stock studs have a stepped shoulder, the larger diameter is .650 and the smaller knurled diameter is .620. The length of the knurled part and the larger smooth shoulder is almost 1 inch. The ARP studs I bought for the front disc brakes do not have half enough length on the knurled shoulder. Does anyone that has ran into this before got an answer?

Danny,
If I remember correctly, I used the Moroso studs. Part number 46180 has a .615" diameter knurl. It says it fits most disc brake Chrysler fronts. It says the hole size should be .606" to .613". If you would like, I could fax you the page out of the catalog. Monty |

Thanks but no, Monty. I have looked at the other studs and they are all the same as the ARP as far a the shoulder length. I evidently have a really weird rotor on my cuda. I have checked with a couple of other Mopar racers that have put the longer studs on their front discs and they all were able to use the ones I already have. I believe I will have to change rotors to be able to use the longer studs.
Prostreetchallenger, according to what I just read a few minutes ago in an email reply about my problem, the studs for the drum brakes are the same ones used for the disc brakes. Maybe some one else can confirm that for you. Danny |
