I know the rocker arms are different that stock. Don't know much else. There is a place I read about cop mobiles. squadcar.com? I can't remember for sure. It was all Mopar cop cars.

Yes, I believe your correct. I have a 4bbl intake that would fit the bill. I'll check it out later for you. Will it have to be a #'s matching or will any factory cast iron intake due. This one I believe is a '79.
What other data do you need?

I'm pretty sure those motors came with wintage trays and a double roller timing chain stock too.

They sure did! Also came with the 340 HP cam. The truck didn't need cats or meet the emmisions of a car.
Its like a low compresion, small int. valved 340 with 20 extra cubes in the stroke area. Better torque potential with a longer strock. Ideal for trucks.

Thanks people for the information on the Police E58.

The block is a 4006830
heads ...4071051
pistons are pressed fit dished
intake is a 4100330-2 cast date 4-4-79 it is a dual plane
exhaust manifold rt. 4041460 cast date 3-2-79 and the lt. 3870837 cast date 4-20-78 the engine does have a windage tray and double roller timing set. I have not pulled the cam yet..got a frozen bolt that is soaking now.
This set up was from a 79 Newport special order interceptor purchased in South Carolina. I have the transmission and the rear gear also. The rear gear is a 9 1/4 2:88 positrac. I am looking to put this set up in a 1952 2 door Ply. Cambridge. I mentioned the exhaust manifolds because I will use them instead of headers. The car will have stock appearance except for the 1998 Dodge Intrepid wheels and the dual exhaust pipes.

Is the e58 engine code the same for all cars or does the engine differ from civilian to police? My 76 Duster has a 360 with the E58 engine code

To: 76 duster and rumblefish...thanks very much on your interest in my project...I will later try and get a few pic on to you...I already have the late model dash installed and power windows....to answer 76duster, I have this to say..in all the times I see reference to the police interceptor version of the 360 it has always been referred to the E58 engine..this engine was in the Lil' red express, the 79 Chrysler Cordoba 300 and in the Petty kit car...another version of the 4 bbl 360 is the E56 but I have no idea what makes up this engine...I am still trying to get the specs on the parts I have with the E58..even the mopar bible only refers to it as the police special...

In mentioning the 79 Cordoba 300..this car got a bum rap from ma mopar...it was never a lettered 300...look today at the 300M..a four door...get real..the 79 is closer to a real letter 300 than this clone...plus it has 300 grill, tail lights, opera windows and limited production..I have the actual figures somewhere..Canada got red ones with white interior...America got white ones with red interior..according to the article this was it...kinda like Henry's first production run..any color you want as long as it was black...

Hey Big A I own a e58 mill that I pulled from a low mileage 79 300,I put it in my 75 3/4T full time 4wd wrecker I also installed headers and a 750 holley, talk about a low compression ass hauler,I couldnt believe the power!!! and at idle it had a little lump to it!! this engine got me 13.5 mpg with 4.10s on the highway at 65mph unloaded or loaded, when I sold the wrecker I kept the engine thats how much I loved it well I later sold it to DART who put it in his 70 dart,it screamed!!! I bought it back after he put a new motor in his car,and at 90K it only needs honed!!! I think Ill put it in my 90 Dakota 2wd.Heres what I know 8:1 comp,.429/.444 cam(340 repro)heads have 1.88/1.60 valve with 74cc chambers, used a free flowing intake with Thermoquad 800 cfm rating and came with single 2.5" exhaust factory rated at 240 hp,just adding headers and holley carb Im sure I was making 275+. Sounds like a great project you have there..............PRO...........
