I was driving up 200th St. with my buddy and a brand new Silverado 2500 Club Cab pulls up beside me. I'm in my 1978 Dodge ClubCab with a mild 440 and 4.10 gears. The light turns green, and I do a slow walk on him to about 30, then I start pulling more and more. I get about 6 to 8 lengths ahead of him and he must've shut down.
This guy had 1 passenger, and so did I.
The only difference was I had a half a yard of wet sand in the back of MY truck...
LOL

Default makes me miss my truck!

about 6 years ago when i first started driving, my first intro into the driving world was my dad's 72 dodge with a 413 and a 4 speed.
one time, we were doing a porch for a relative's house (we drive concrete trucks) and we had about 1.5 tons of sand in the back of this truck.
the backend was so low, and the front end was so high, that we figured that if we dumped the clutch at a high enough rpm, we could get the front tires off of the ground.

so, we get setup (my dad has had a few beers) with a camera and me behind the wheel of this thing.
i bring the rpms up to about 5000 and just pin it while dumping the clutch at the same time.

after we picked up what was left of the u-joints / driveshaft / transmission case, we towed the truck home (it wouldn't start)
we twisted the crankshaft about 20 degrees variance from end to end, and stuck two pistons straight into the head/valves.

it was the coolest picture we ever had.

I was going camping in my class "A" motorhome towing a trailer full of dirtbikes one time and a guy in an older Toyota minivan pulls up beside me at a light that is directly before where two lanes merge. I get my wife to open the passenger window, I smile at the driver and I say "I don't know where you think you're going..."

440 Class A motorhome with 4.88 gears - 1
Toyota minivan - 0

back in the day, my old man had an old '77 or '78 pick-me-up truck. We were on a steep mountain road pulling a tank of a trailer up this hill, going on our family vacation. Now my dad doesn't like little imports passing him on the mountain roads, and to top it all off the imports put a rock chip in the window (my dad has a short temper and doesnt put up with anything) He just steps on it, the old 440 starts powerin up, and we start hauling up this hill, foot to the floor, we start to pass this same import, we were doing about 80 mph. All of a sudden there was no power and a loud bang, then a bad smell followed. He walked the crankshaft out of the journals, put a couple pistons into the head, and shot a connecting rod through the oil pan. The old man didn't think it was so funny, but i couldn't stop laughing. That was one to remember
