Magnum intakes. Is there a difference?

Im looking for a used magnum intake for a project of mine and was wondering is there a difference between the 318 and the 360 intakes? What about the ones out of Dakotas?

I believe that the 318 and 360 intakes are the same. I haven't messed with these though, so maybe some body has first hand knowledge. I think there was an article in one of the Mopar magazines a few years ago. I think they concluded that the intake was a major restriction to making HP.

I've also heard that they use the same intakes. If you are looking to make power, as mr_340 says, the stock truck intake manifolds are pretty restrictive since they are made for low-RPM towing use. If you would like to stick with the factory manifold, I heartily suggest porting it out and port-matching to the heads. There are a lot of places that specialize in Magnum performance who can do this for you if you can't/don't want to do it yourself. Also the throttle body is sort of restrictive, it should be flowed out as well.
