My '70 shop manual says 30 ft/lbs for small block engines, 25 ft/lbs for big blocks.

Info was taking out of "How to rebuild my small block MoPar" by Don Taylor and Larry Hofer. P.135 second column, 3rd paragraph at the end.
It did seem lite to me. I have rebuilt a couple of engines using this as a guide with NO failures anywhere.
I like AMOPARGUYS specs better myself.
Then again, I've also done butcher work before and have not had a problem ether. They'll take a lot of twisting. They will also clatter like hell when they become loose. I just found out my wife's '94 Hyundai Excel has shaft type rockers. (1 for intake and 1 for exhaust)
Doing it right is the only way you should do it!!!! Hands down! Your smart to check around and you did do the right thing by asking/checking more than one source. Smart, very smart.
Chrysler Shop manuals are best.
No offense taken. My apologies.

I've always done it at 16 lbs. per my Hane's manual and my Crane instructions, it seemed kinda lite to me to but they've never loosened or anything.
