Question

Hey guy's got a question, has anyone used the new ratech pinion bearing spacer for a 8 3/4 ring gear and pinion. I shelled most of the teeth off my rearend in my race car last night, but I did not break it, I don't see how it kept from totally destroying it. I have got to replace it and was just wondering if anyone had used this spacer, it's supposed to take the place of the big shim that goes behind the big pinion bearing, if so what did you like about, or dislike about it, all replies greately appreciated.

65 Racer, The stock 8-3/4 spacer is a crush type of spacer that is designed to compress when the pinion bearing preload is setup. With a lot of torque and traction this can compress and it also then bad things happen. The solid spacer is used with shims to set the preload and they work good. I am getting ready to order a new set of gears and a solid spacer from Randys ring and pinon next week for the Cuda.
