may be old news, but can any one give me any flow data on these heads in 'box-stock' form.

also how do they compare to other LA heads as far as port flows and volumes.

Larry Shepard wrote an excellt paper on this. To put it in a nut shell, the head will out perform the LA. heads. The ports will flow like W-2 heads on the low lift side and will still out flow the LA's on the high side. It won't outflow the W-2. I'll look through my stuff if ya want . I don't remember any flow #'s though.

Well to say the least it's damn easier to remove/install the intake manifold on the magnums because of their unique vertical bolt holes. On the LA motors, i had used an edelbrock streetmaster ii manifold, and to get the 4 bolts that bolt near the carb bore, it's not possible to use stock length intake bolts. We'll just see how much the manifold will walk with the shorter bolts holding it down.

There is a stock 1992-1997 Magnum cyl head flow column {marked OEM 1.92} in the table near the bottom of the webpage at:

http://www.hughesengines.com/heads/magnum_heads.asp

For comparison purposes, there are W7 and W8 flow charts at:

http://www.chapmanracingheads.com/or....html#CHRYSLER

and Edelbrock LA aluminum head flow numbers at:

http://www.martelbros.com/edel/autom...ownumbers.html

While you are at it, check out the 'semi-Hemi' splayed valve (Polysphere) heads of the Magnum 4.7V8 at:
