The carb on my 69 440 has what i believe to be a return line to the tank. The pipe is approx. 5/16" and is just above and forward of the fuel inlet. My next question is do i need to hard pipe this back to my fuel cell for bracket racing? If it is not a return line then what is it?

It's a vapor return line and you can leave it open.
