Question

Hi guys,
I bought a 68 383 HP engine with a spun rod bearing.
I have a new crank,will be installing new bearings,timing chin and gears,gaskets,ect.
My question is about the camshaft.
The guy I bought it from said it was a nice cam but nothing radical. My 68 RR is being rebuilt completely stock. Stock manifolds, intake, carb, with original 4 speed tranny. The rear end is 3.23. The cam I pulled out says

ERSON 500H B8S1 08 72K.

Does anyone know what lift, duration, centerline, ect this cam has?
I don't think the 500H means .500 lift. I could be wrong but thats why I am here. To get your answers.
Thanks
Jon
Oh I plan on reistalling the cam as it and the lifters are almost brand new.

Hmmmmm, good question. Did you think of calling the maker of the cam?

Thats funny. The last Erson cam I had was for a small block and it had 280H on it. 280 was for the duration and the "H" was for hydralic. It turned out to be .460 lift, 280 duration but the "500" on your is not for duration thats for sure!
