Alternator
I have burned out two 60-amp alternators in the past couple of weeks on my '73 Challenger 340. Am I just getting cheap rebuilt alternators (under warranty of course) or is there another underlying problem?

Sounds like cheap rebuilt units. I used to have that problem alot with the lifetime warranty alternators. I finally got fed up and took the alternator to an auto electric shop and had them rebuild it. They used new diodes, brushes and redid all of the windings. That alternator lasted several years, before I sold the car.

Sounds like junk rebuilt alternators, but you may want to check the alternator output post nut, it should be snug but not too tight, if it is overtightened it may crack its insulator and short out.
