Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction, in why the 1991 dodge caravan, (Ext.Model, 3.3L, Towing package) on long trips more then 100km the oil pressure will drop (right down to the bottom, below the orange line like when the van is off) when you stay at a constant rpm (highway cruising speed) and continues after the trip for around a weeks time, but if you shift it to neutral and rev it up the oil pressure will go back to the norm for a short period (first tick on oil pressure gauge). Any insight towards this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Cliff |

Sounds like the sending unit is toast.

Sound like the same problem I had with the sending unit in my 95' Ram. Look in the oil fill hole while the engine is running, if oil is being splashed around then I would say it's probably the sending unit.

I have a 91 Dynasty with the 3.3 and have the same problem. They guy at the Chrysler Dealership said to try a new pressure sending unit. He said he has yet to see a 3.3 with an actual oil pressure problem.
Good luck |
