I have rebuilt everything I think possible on my truck, the only thing I have never opened up or payed any attention to is a automatic tranny. I have replaced gears in the 4 spd I am running now.

Anyway I want to build a bullet proof 727 that will go behind a 500hp 440 and have to deal with a 7000# truck and 38" rubber. I want to do it myself so I know what it is and who to blame.

I am looking for and good books, video, websites, ect that I can get my hands on. And input on what parts to upgrade, I here of Kevlar clutch packs, better gears, bigger shafts, and so on. Also is their a "GOOD" valve body out their that gives you both full manual and full auto? If not I will go full manual.

I know it is asking alot, but it will be greatly appreciated. I have contacted B&M, TCI, and other and they all seem dumbfouned when I say "truck tranny". They know their cars that it for shure, but not much about what I want to do.

Mopar_Mudder, Gil Younger at Transgo has a bulliten for building the 727 for vehicles over 5500 pounds on page "PB-TF" in his Transgo/Research book. This book has tips for many transmissions. I used TurboAction components in my race 727, but local mechanics like Transgo for street and ranch equipement.
