Default 904 or 727

What I need to decide is if I want to go to a 904. Currently I run a 360 +30, 727 3k stall 8.5", 8 1/4 w/3.55. Will run 13.0's @ 98mph. Manual valve body. Street/race. '70 Demon/3300 lbs
What will I need to do to the 904 (besides a new drive shaft) to make it live? I figure it should handle p to 500 hp( I have a nitros kit I'd like to put on)

Default 904

Hey hope this helps out. Most people and I think that it takes less power to turn a 904. Thats what i have in my dart. I have the 360 380 crate motor. The tranni is getting rebuilt as we speak. The guy who is doing is using the B&M Race masters kit from summit. I think it is $179 or rite in that area. He said i should be able to put 500 hp to this trani with no problem. You might want to go to a bigger stall converter. Like around 3500 if you drive this car on the street. I just ordered one from Coan. Its a 3500 10". Its kinda high in price at $560 but worth it. I just blew the tranni last weekend. This is the first problem I have ever had with it since it was re-done at least 2 years ago. maybe even 4. Hopefully it will last to the end of this season then im planing on seening what it will do with a 800hp 340. hopefully this 904 will hold it cause i dont really want to go to a 727 or a glide. Well hope this helps.
