Default Set up help

I want to upgrade my system from stock, slowly. Starting with a new head unit, (2) 6X9's, (2) 6's and a couple tweaters. The head is 40X4. Do I have to use crossovers to run the tweaters. I'd like to add them later. Should they go on with the front speakers or does it not matter?
Also, how do you read the ohm's rating? What different applications would 2, 4 etc. ohms be used in?
Thanks

OK.. Forget the crossover/tweater question. How about ohms? 2,4 etc. How do I know what I need?
Thanks

you need to use 4 ohm speakers. The radio will only be able to handle 4 ohms

You only need to worry about ohms when you are using multiple subs.

You can read ohms with a Multi-meter.

the symbol looks like a horse shoe.

Back to the crossover / tweeter question.

Yes you will need crossovers to run tweeters. Most tweeters come with crossovers with them when purchased(not all but most). If you cannot find the tweeters you like with crossovers you can have you local stereo shop get or make you some.

Where you put your tweeters is up to you.To go with the norm you would put them in front.
