1965 727 Transmission Question
Hi all,
I have a 1965 727 trans in my coronet. I would like to put a stall converter in it. What are my options for doing this? What do I need to change? I just picked up a Manual valve body for this trans from Joe at TranZact..(Wonderful Shop) and I don't want to change a whole bunch unless I have to.. |

You need to tell the converter maker that you have a early (pre 1967) 727 trans because the input shaft spline count for the torque converter is different. The converter input shaft can be removed from the front clutch pack and a newer input shaft installed. This will let you use more "off the shelf" built torque converters.
