I am switching to 906 heads, My 440 had the org steel gaskets on it, I have a rebuild gasket set from Mr.Gskt. how much of a compresson drop will I have. I dont have anyway to mesure the thicknes of the gastets. the number on the kit is #7115 if that helps. thanks for all your help.

Hugh first I would have to ask what year is the motor. If you are going from a closed to open chamber head(906) then you will have a big loss of compression. If they are both open chambers then the gasket change maybe be a Half a point Max more like less than that.

If your staying with the same volume head chamber expect a .5 drop in comp,so unless you have too high of comp now or are switching to closed chamber heads(they raise comp 1.0)then Id stick to the steel ones. You can still buy the steel ones from MP P4286754 around $20pr....PRO.....

The CR drop has a lot to do with your current CR. The lower your CR is, the less will it drop and the higher you have the more will it drop.
