Get the Crate motor from a reputable builder like Ray Barton or Dick Landy NOT from Summit or Mopar Performance or any other cataloge shop that gets them straight from MP performance..Dick Landy and Ray Barton or Larry Sheppard(in Ohio I think) Build them from the ground up using New MP parts.
Find a repuatable builder to build it, you might even get one before next year if you do..

Hey Larry Sheapred # is 330 644-2000. I posted it in the other thread but ill post it here to. Build some mean motors. Tell him Dave Freeman told you to call. Let me know on what you decide on. If you get one from MP your going to be waiting for about a year coz of the backorder on all of them. Our 360 380 has been running great.

Larrys version of the crate motor is guarnted 550hp. Using all new parts. As far as a trany a good rebuilt 727 will work fine. Use the B&M rebuild kit and put a shit improver in it. Out back 3.55's or 3.91's will be good in an 8 3/4. The grear size just really depends on what the car will be used for. Ask larry about a tranny. He can do good work on them.

thanks again im thinking about calling him i just have to find time i work about 15 hours a day. how much would a strong rebuilt tranny cost?? I looked at a b&m tranny but they seemed a bit proud of them. Is larry the one who is building your monster horse 340?? Well thanks again.

I dont know for sure his prices on a tranny. Never had him do ours. But dont expect it to be cheap. Larry does do good work but you have to pay for it. You can buy one from coan for 700 or so. And no larry isnt the guy who had that 340. This is another guy in town who does motors. Larry normally wont touch anything that is under 426 cu. in. Unless its one of his slow months. And the 340 has been put on hold as we are thinking about our options on getting the same about of hp out of this 360.

ive been following your threads on your 360 i think supercharging is a much better idea than putting turbos on but thats just my opinion. Im thinking of putting a 360 down in my sattellite untill i can afford a big bucks hemi. My dad has a 71( i think) fury sitting at his house that was running when it was parked. He told me that it had a police special 360 in it with a 727 out back. I dont know if this is true or not. how would i be able to find out?? Would it be coded in the vin? Or the fender tag? Well thanks again anyway.

I think if we do anything to this motor it will be the super charger. If we go and use a turbo thats a lot of stuff that you have to make. This supercharger is a kit for this motor. They say you can have it on in about 3 hours. As far as decoding vin tags, im not to good at this. Im sure someone will know in here on where you can find that out.
